There are two common uses for plug-in energy monitors:
- Determine the power consumed by various appliances in your home before a power cut, to help establish what can be powered by your home back-up solution e.g. generator, mains inverter or EV V2L cable.
- Use during a power cut on the output of your back-up power solution, to enable live monitoring of the power being consumed.
Basic Unit
- Plug unit into a 13A socket and then connect an appliance.
- Provides a live reading on the LCD display of the power being used (watts) and a cumulative total of the power used (kWh).
Wi-Fi Unit
- Plug unit into a 13A socket and then connect an appliance.
- Download the Android or IoS app.
- Remotely monitor current power consumption and a cumulative total of the power used (kWh) on any smartphone or tablet.
- The appliance connected can also be switched on/off, or timers set up using the app.
- Can be integrated with Google Home, Amazon Alexa and other Wi-Fi based platforms.
- Based on the popular Tuya platform.
- Requires a Wi-Fi connection to function.
